Our Design Process
Performance criteria defined
Our design process begins with the development of an energy strategy and a target benchmark. Extensive building energy simulations are done to assist the architects in developing a form that is responsive to the micro climate. During this stage, several passive design strategies are evaluated and an environmental strategy is developed. This is optimal for the specific built form. The building envelope is then optimized to reduce the thermal load. Our experience of energy audits and of commissioning various facilities helps calibrate our simulation models to be realistic.

Samit is a Mechanical Engineer with over 18 years of industry experience and specialized in the design, project management and execution of HVAC projects for Cleanrooms and High Performance Green Buildings. Samit is a LEED AP, CMVP, Bureau of Energy Efficiency Certified Energy Auditor and a GRIHA Certified Trainer and Evaluator. He is also a Chartered Engineer (India).
Swati Puchalapalli +
Swati is an architect by qualification, but has specialized in Environmental Design. She has over 15 years of experience in Environmental Building Design, Computational Analysis & Assessment and Environmental Policy Research. She is an M.Sc. in Environmental Building Design and Services (Edinburgh), a GRIHA Evaluator & Trainer and a BREEAM Assessor.
Rakesh Sahay +
Rakesh is a Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years of experience in MEP design and execution, Energy Audits and Whole Building Commissioning. Rakesh is a Bureau of Energy Efficiency Accredited Energy Auditor and a GRIHA Certified Trainer. He is also a Chartered Engineer (India) and a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India)
Aditya Reddy +
Aditya is an LLB with Honors from the University of Dundee (UK). He has specialised in Downstream Energy Law and EU Environmental Policy. He has over 15 years of experience in Accountancy and Business Consulting.
Mr. UV Achar is a Mechanical Engineering graduate with over four decades of experience in MEP design, sales and execution. He has been an HVAC design consultant for about 20 years and has completed several commercial, hospital, hotel and pharmaceutical project designs.
eQube is a specialized commissioning, energy-audit and performance management organization founded by Mr. Rakesh Sahay. It brings to the table its knowledge of operations and energy-audits, which are integrated into our designs. This makes them more robust. eQube’s experience is also valuable in evaluating energy-efficiency measures for retrofit designs. The firm leverages its knowledge of M&V (Measurement and Verification) and Root Cause Analysis, resulting in reduced downtime and improved energy-efficiency of facilities.
Terraviridis specializes in building energy simulations, daylight studies and evaluation of passive design features, besides facilitating ‘green building’ certifications like LEED and GRIHA. The team is led by Ms. Swati Puchalapalli, a Masters in Environmental Building Design, who has over 15 years of relevant experience.
Ficus is a firm specialized in Master Planning, Site Planning, Landscape and Infrastructure Planning. The team is led by Mr. Sriganesh Rajendran, an architect with a Masters in Landscape Architecture and over 10 years of experience in Landscaping and Urban Design.
Mr. Nagarajan Sembukutty is a certified plumbing engineer. He has more than 17 years of experience in design, estimation, project management and execution of plumbing and fire fighting systems in India and the Middle East.
Mr. Anand Deshpande is a Mechanical Engineer with over 13 years of experience in design, and project management of retrofits and new projects. Also, he has extensive experience in operations and maintenance of HVAC plants for commercial buildings and industrial facilities.
